Hi,
One
more exciting week with a lot of new eye-opening discoveries is coming to end. I
am glad I could manage my time to fulfill all the assignments in time.
I would like to thank all my dear group mates for sharing their ideas,
opinions and links. It takes a lot of time to explore all the links in a short
period of time , so I think I will do it gradually and add links to my
Delicious time by time. This week gave me one more opportunity to find a great
deal of fantastic links which I am going to use in my teaching! Another thing
that made this week fruitful is reading the final reports. At last, I have a
whole picture of what is going to be the result of the course (besides all the
other beautiful things that we are getting during the course) . I see, it is
going to be a hard work, but it‘s worth it!
Along with the Delicious and final reports I read two
articles with a great pleasure this week .They are Developing Listening Skills
with Authentic Materials by Lindsay Miller and The Employment of CALL in
Teaching Second/Foreign Language Speaking Skills by Julia Gong. These articles
focus on Listening, Speaking and Pronunciation. Moreover, I was happy to
see my mates’ opinions on these articles. Yes, it is inevitable that technology
comes to our every day lessons. It is a demand of time. And I hope, I will be
able to update my knowledge on using technology upon completion of the course!
Best,
Samarat
Hi Samarat,
ReplyDeleteWell done! You have posted your reflection for week 3. I agree with you that reading the final project reports give us a clearer picture of what we have to do. I hope we will be able to carry out our projects and write good reports at the end. Wish you all the best.
Thank you very much, Annusha!
DeleteHi Samarat,
ReplyDeleteI join Annusha and say congratulation for being among the first to finish week 3 tasks.
For me whenever I read and skim articles, posts, websites, I feel I need more time to make an overview !
I do agree with you and Annusha about the motivation and the model instructions we got from reading reports
Regards
Ouarda
You're right, Ouarda. Sometimes I wish I had more than 24 hours a day!
DeleteGreat ! Samarat,
ReplyDeleteI am glad you and many of us have been able to accomplish the week's tasks. The week has been hectic but full of learning and discoveries! I agree with you that our web group is dynamic and hardworking. The discussion post's "market" was full of quality contributions and "goods"! We will surely pack and keep them in safety in the Delicious.com "fridge" for use for in due time.
There hope for a happy ending of the webskills course.
Cheers!
Foli.
Thank you Foli, for reading my reflections! I believe coming weeks are going to be even more interesting!

Samarat
Hi Samarat,
ReplyDeleteJust like you, I was glad to complete all the tasks in time since time flies very quickly and we have to do a lot of work. I was probably the last one to post my comments about the project report I had read and, thus, I suppose you may not have seen the message I left to you in Nicenet classroom. If you do not mind I would like to ask you the same question in here. The thing is that I am wondering if you have ever worked with Web Quests, which are used in the project you described. What facilities are required to make advantage of this tool? Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Tetiana
Hi Tetiana,
DeleteI am very sorry for delaying with the answer to your question. To tell the truth, Web Quest is really new for me. What am I doing now is searching the Internet trying to find the answers to the same questions as you are asking. Unfortunately, in Zlatka final report I couldn't find how it works. I think unluss we register in the Web Quest we will not be able to understand how it works. What I got is that Web Quest keeps students on-task while online. Student activities are organized by the WebQuest and they can stay focused on using information rather than finding it.
I will be glad to share any info concerning the advantages of this tool with you.
Best,
Samarat
Hi Samarat,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry if I have bothered you with the questions and would like to thank for your interest in collaborating and sharing your knowledge. I didn't even imagine what Web Quest is until you metioned it in your posts. Now I see that it is a collection of on-line classroom activities arranged in a separate web space and requiring using special web desing software (and skills). You might be interested to know that we all are going to deal with Web Quest during week 5 of the Web skills course we are currently doing(!) There are no readings about Web Quests available yet. But the assignment for week 4 suggests learning how to build a web-site, so I guess we just need to move step by step until we finally look into Web Quests in detail.
Once again, it is very nice talking to you, Samarat. I highly appreciate the contribution you make into weekly course discussions.
Regards,
Tetiana
